Dynamic Indexing of High-Usage Views

This feature keeps busy views up-to-date and enables them to be opened more quickly. There is no need to manually identify and manage view indexing for active views. When the feature is enabled on the Domino server the Domino server regularly monitors the level of update activity for all views in all open databases and assigns them an update activity score.

Quick Domino Tip: Log Session Parameters

The NOTES.INI parameter LOG_SESSIONS specifies whether individual sessions are recorded in the log file and displayed on the console. The parameter LOG_SESSIONS has two values as mentioned in the regular standard documentation, 0 and 1. As an example as we look in the IBM Domino Administrator 9.0.1 Social Edition Help database, only the values 0 and 1 are documented.

Upgrading the Domino Directory Template on a Domino Server

As indicated in my previous blog post, Programmatically Replace or Refresh Design of Local Databases, a number of new templates have become available at the release of IBM Notes Domino Feature Pack 9. One of these templates is the new Domino Directory template (pubnames.ntf) that extends Holiday documents through years 2026 or 2027 and also adds policy updates for both Traveler and IBM Mail Support for Microsoft Outlook (IMSMO).
