Earlier today, HCL Software (the newly announced division of HCL Technologies) was launched in a press release formally announcing that HCL had completed the purchase of the IBM software announced late last year. As part of this new entity, today HCL Software launched their new portal (Built on PORTAL and DOMINO!), which provides Customers and Partners a one-stop site where they can receive product information.

I will never forget the most memorable moments that occurred at the conference formerly known as Lotusphere. 2 of them, especially, had a huge impact on my life and my career. On the morning of the 30th of January, 2013, I was approached by Jason Hatch, the then CTP leader for Asia Pacific (AP), with a proposition.

Looking Back at THINK 2019, and EXCITED for the FUTURE

By Mat Newman | 2/20/19 3:21 AM | Business - Events / People | Added by Oliver Busse

IBM Think 2019 clearly demonstrated two things. First, regardless of what the event is called, the Collaboration Solutions Family is an amazing group of people, and I am honoured to count many among them as my friends. Second, that group of people are genuinely excited about the future of the Collaboration Portfolio, and their response to the announcements and sessions targeted at them this year clearly demonstrated that they are energised about the future for this platform, regardless of the company who owns it.

IBM ConnectED 2015 MAS101: #UserBLAST2015

By Mat Newman | 2/6/15 11:17 AM | Business - Events / People | Added by Johnny Oldenburger

#UserBLAST has been a session I've done for the past few years, beginning (sort of) with "Where is the Love" at Lotusphere 2010. Inspired by Gabriella Davis and Paul Mooney's AdminBLAST sessions, the idea has always been to demonstrate the power of my favourite piece of software (hence posting "25 Notes on 25 years of Notes" before this post) by showing people where stuff is and how it works in the Notes client.

IBM ConnectED 2015, BP101: @IF("It\’s Really Good";"It MUST Be Notes";"Must Be Something Else") 25 Notes on 25 Years of Notes!

By Mat Newman | 2/3/15 8:43 AM | Business - Events / People | Added by Johnny Oldenburger

This year I had great pleasure in presenting BP101 with two fantastic friends and legends of the Lotus community in Alan Lepofsky and Carl Tyler. 25 years of the most revolutionary desktop application ever created condensed into 25 "Notes". We'll panel our way through the good, the interesting and the controversial, as we take a trip down memory lane, you'll laugh, you'll cry, but one thing is for certain, you'll fall in love with Notes all over again!

Announcing the availability of the Totally Unofficial Totally Unsupported IBM ConnectED Session Database

By Mat Newman | 1/14/15 1:00 AM | Business - Events / People | Added by Johnny Oldenburger

A couple of years a group of enterprising individuals picked up the mantle left by Ben Langhinrichs and created the IBM Connect 2013 and 2014 session databases. This year the conference has been renamed to IBM ConnectED, which of course would not be complete without the communities Totally Unofficial, Totally Unsupported IBM Notes Session Database.

My Top 5 reasons to get to IBM Connect 2014

For the past few years, the trek to IBM Connect (Lotusphere) has become a pilgrimage for me.

Over the last few years, one of the most useful tools leading up to Lotusphere (now IBM Connect) has been the outstanding Session Database provided by Ben Langhinrichs.

Get Social at IBM Connect 2013 ... Don’t think, Don’t Hope, DO!

I'm really so very excited about the upcoming conference, whether it be called Lotusphere or Connect, since this will be the first time in 5 years that IBM have completely overhauled the Lotus Notes client that I love and evangelise. My first Lotusphere in 2008 was abuzz as the event heralded the introduction of a new Notes client with a completely new interface that was IBM Lotus Notes 8.
